HI all, A special BESE meeting will be held this Wednesday March 29th at 1pm  at the LDOE to discuss the Louisiana ESSA plan--- we are asking principals to attend this meeting to share your thoughts on the proposed plan. LAP ( Along with the Superintendents Association, the School Board Association, LAE and LFT) is asking for submission in September 2017 to allow for stakeholders to look at school/ district specific data to make the needed revisions prior to submission. Hi all, We have had a very active start to spring activities with the Special Legislative Session on the budget and working to make sure we preserve the MFP funding along with a new BESE board.  LAP also held a STEM workshop in Baton Rouge in January that provided site based and district level administrators with information on STEM and how to implement programs in their districts and schools. So hard to believe that 2016 is here!  We are very hopeful that our new Governor—Jon Bel Edwards will improve the Education Environment in Louisiana.  He has been a true friend to principals and educators in the past and we look forward to working with him to make education a #1 priority for the state!  We are working hard to make sure we provide site based administrators with a voice in education policy!
